SLOTOCHROM DR 1140 Cr (III)

The Chrome SLOTOCHROM DR 1140 is an electrolyte for the deposition of decorative chromium layers. Chrome SLOTOCHROM DR 1140 doesn’t contain chromates (hexavalent chromic acid) and operates on the basis of trivalent chromium [Cr(III)] compounds. As a result, environmental and operator safety are improved considerably. In addition, there will be no need for a separate effluent engineering and chromium(VI) reduction in the detoxification. The sulphate based electrolyte is also free from ammonia. Chrome SLOTOCHROM DR 1140 is operated without spray suppressants containing PFOS (PFT). This avoids the restriction for decorative chrome plating.

The chrome coatings are light and very close in appearance to those provided by conventional chromium(VI) electrolytes.

The metal distribution, coverage and throwing power of Chrome SLOTOCHROM DR 1140 is significantly superior to conventional chrome plating solutions based on chromic acid. This means a considerably even metal distribution. The process is resistant to burning in high current density areas. Auxiliary anodes or shields are seldom required even when parts with a complicated surface geometry are plated. There’s no need to close drill holes or other perforations with a plug (unlike conventional chrome plating baths) if parts are going to be chrome plated.

SLOTOCHROM 50 Cr (III)

Bright Chrome SLOTOCHROM 50 deposits light decorative chrome layers. The process doesn’t contain any chromic acid and is based on chloride. The chromium coatings are bright and similar in appearance to coatings deposited from chromium(VI) based electrolytes.

Metal distribution and coverage of Bright Chrome SLOTOCHROM 50 is superior to conventional chromic acid based plating solutions. The electrolyte is resistant to burning in high current density areas. Auxiliary anodes or shields are seldom needed even if parts with complicated geometry are plated. There’s no need to close drill holes or other perforations with a plug if parts are going be chrome plated.

The additives of Bright Chrome SLOTOCHROM 50 are free from AOX. For perfect electrolyte operation, hydrochloric acid is required. The interaction with hydrochloric acid may form AOX.

SLOTOCHROME 20 Cr (VI)

Bright Chrome SLOTOCHROME 20 is a chrome bath which is easy to maintain and is characterised by its especially low content of chromic acid.

Apart from the resultant technical advantages in effluent disposal, Bright Chrome SLOTOCHROME 20 has very good covering power, which exceeds that of other higher concentration chrome baths.

In spite of the low chromic acid content, the electrolyte is less sensitive to impurities. Even the required bath voltage is slightly lower than that for higher concentrated baths.

Wetting Agent SLOTOCHROM CR 1270

Wetting Agent SLOTOCHROM CR 1270 is a polyfluoro-containing, PFOS-free, chromium(VI) resistant, surface active wetting agent. This wetting agent decreases the drag-out losses from chrome electrolytes remarkably and quickly forms a closed layer of foam over the surface inhibiting the spraying of chrome mists. It has no action in the chrome plating process. The consumption is low and is mostly dependent on drag-out losses.
